The Refugee Education Council (REC)

The REC ensures that refugees, displaced youth, and host communities have a meaningful voice in shaping global education policy.

The REC was established in February 2021 by the Government of Canada as part of its Together for Learning campaign, which aims to improve education for refugee and displaced youth. The REC is an advisory body made up of displaced learners, educators, and community leaders from around the world. It amplifies refugee voices in global education decision-making and provides direct input into policies and programs affecting children and youth in crisis contexts.
